Concept
What is Tenrai?
Tenrai is a proof-of-work and proof-of-stake blockchain with post-quantum signatures, final blocks within seconds and its own coin, TRAI.
On this page
Tenrai is a blockchain with its own coin, TRAI. Miners produce blocks with proof of work, validators make them final with proof of stake, and every key and signature is post-quantum.
How it works
- Miners find work blocks with TenQ, a memory-hard proof of work built for GPUs. Blocks are found in parallel: 50 per second on average across the network, up to 100 in bursts, each with room for 10 transactions.
- Validators certify a cut every 2.5 seconds. A cut registers the newest work blocks and executes the transactions they carry in a fixed order.
- A certified cut is final. It is never rolled back, so there are no reorganizations to wait out.
- Coins sit in unspent outputs locked to ML-DSA-65 keys, the post-quantum signature standard FIPS 204.
The design is called TRAIDAG. Architecture explains it in more depth.
TRAI
| Decimals | 8. The smallest unit, one atom, is 0.00000001 TRAI |
|---|---|
| Maximum supply | 200,000,000 TRAI |
| Emission | Each day pays 99.7 % of the day before. Half is out after 231 days, 99 % after 4.2 years; the last atom follows on day 12,650, after about 34.6 years |
| Rewards | Half to miners, half to stakers, transaction fees included |
Economics covers the emission curve and the supply figures.
Networks
| Network | Addresses start with | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Mainnet | trai1 | The main network |
| Testnet | ttrai1 | Testing with the mainnet parameters |
| Testnet100 | ttrai1 | Testing at 100 blocks per second, bursts up to 200, and 1.5 s cuts |
| Development | dtrai1 | A local network on one machine |
Where to go next
- Getting started with a wallet
- Start mining or stake TRAI
- Run a node or build on the APIs
