Solo mining

Mine solo on your own node or through a stratum bridge for several rigs. Every block you find pays its full reward to your address.

On this page

Solo mining pays every block you find in full to your own address. The income is less regular than in a pool.

On your own node

The node serves mining work on a listener that only accepts the same machine, 127.0.0.1:28702. Run the miner next to a synced node:

Shell
tenrai-miner -a <your address>

Nothing else has to be set: the miner uses every GPU and two CPU threads and shows its dashboard on http://127.0.0.1:28770/. It waits while the node is not running yet or still catching up. It finds the node by the network of your address: mainnet on port 28702, a testnet on 28707.

Many rigs through a bridge

The stratum bridge serves the node's work to miners on other machines. Each miner logs in with its own address, and every block pays that address directly.

On the node's machine, for rigs in your local network:

Shell
tenrai-stratum-bridge --listen-tls 0.0.0.0 --tls-name 192.168.1.10 --allow 192.168.1.0/24

The first start creates tenrai-stratum-bridge.crt next to the program. Copy it to each rig and start the miner:

Shell
tenrai-miner -a <your address> --stratum 192.168.1.10 --tls-ca tenrai-stratum-bridge.crt -w rig1

The miner sends unencrypted Stratum only to its own machine.

Reaching a bridge over the internet needs TLS and a password or an allow list. Stratum bridge covers the setup.

When rewards arrive

A block's reward is paid by the cut that closes the registration window of the block's anchor, about 96 cuts or 4 minutes after the block. It then appears in your wallet like any finalized payment.

Every block reward is a separate coin. After a while, compound them so your wallet can spend them in fewer transactions.

Estimate your income

The node answers what a hashrate earns per day at the current difficulty:

Shell
curl "http://127.0.0.1:28701/v1/economics/estimate/mining?hashes_per_second=30000"
